PChome (TWSE: 8044) today announced operating income for March 2017, with NTD$2.285 Bn in consolidated sales, growing by 4.8% compared to the same period last year (NTD$2.181 Bn). As a result, consolidated sales in January to March combined (NTD$6.924Bn) increased 2.2%, compared to the same period last year.

 

PChome offers a wide range of services, including PChome Shopping, PChome24h Shopping and portal. Ecommerce sales grew in March, thanks to seasonal factors, tourism, and sport demands in spring, and special offers in consumer electronics and home appliances. The B2C e-commerce website under PChome features over 5 million listings, in which over 2 million offer 24-hour delivery in Taiwan, and 6-hour delivery in Taipei City. With the largest B2C listing in Taiwan, diverse options, as well as fast and stable delivery, PChome has continued to be the top choice for e-commerce.

 

Fluctuating weathers, constant rains, and inferior air quality in March contributed to sales in rain gear, dehumidifiers, and air purifiers, among others. Compared to the same period last year, air purifiers and dehumidifiers boosted 60% and 45% in sales on PChome24h Shopping in March, respectively. Seasonal healthcare supplements for immune system and rain gear for scooter riders also increased sales by 30% in March, compared to the same period last year.

 

After Chinese New Year, consumers purchased more outdoor, sport, and fitness products as weather got warmer. Swimwear products on PChome24h Shopping benefited from rising temperatures and new brands entered, growing sales by 1.5 times compared to the same period last year. Sport healthcare supplements, such as whey protein, saw a 40% increase compared to March last year. Others products, such as running, cycling, fitness, outdoor kid, camping, and picnic, also grew by 20% in March, compared to the same period last year.

 

Special offers and popular new products supported consumer electronics and home appliances. Refrigerators on PChome24h Shopping, for example, showed a 60% growth in sales in March, compared to the same period last year. Keyboards and mice also increased by 40% over the same period. E-sport laptops, headsets, televisions, and Android TV set-top boxes grew up to 30% in March, compared to the same period last year. Overall, sales in March, compared to the same period last year, jumped by 4.8%, the highest performance in March in history.

 

Coming up in April, PChome has planned several campaigns, including children festival, spring computer show, and Mother’s Day promotions, to offer prompt ecommerce services and best deals to consumers.
